About Melissa:
I was put on my first horse when I was two years old, I have been hooked ever since. I started taking riding lessons and showing Dressage as well as 4-H when I was eight years old. When I was 12 years old I started training my mother's horses and my own. At the age of 17 I started my training business, and have been doing it ever since.
I have had great success with the methods I use when training horses, I practice Natural Horsemanship, along with some Classical Dressage techniques, as well as some of my own techniques. I feel it's better for the horse's mental as well as their physical status to use the Natural Horsemanship methods in their training.
I specialize in forming a good foundation on young horses as well as horses that have missed essential elements in their training.
I wanted to further my knowledge and experience, so I went to MN School of Horseshoeing in Ramsey,MN. I graduated horseshoeing school in the spring of 2006.
I currently own a small Horse Training Facility in Makinen, MN. Equipped with a 65' x 120' outdoor arena, 50' round pen, 3 large pastures with run in shelter, and 3 smaller pastures with run in shelter. Hopefully an indoor riding arena in the next year or two.
